Hall of Shame: Senator "Amnesty" Lott

Trent Lott is one of the Republican Senators in a leadership position who tried to twist arms to enable the passage of the misguided S.1639 immigration reform bill. He is also an alleged racist for remarks he made at the time of the retirement of a fellow senator.

That's a great cartoon but "no cigar"; no one thinks of Mexican illegals like this. After all, how would they get across the border with bandoliers of bullets? Only in a comedy like Three Amigos and older movies do you see this kind of portrayal of criminal Mexicans.
Remember "The Magnificent Seven"? Eli Wallach was great at portraying this stereotype of the Mexican bandit or criminal.

I had the definition of El Guapo, I just wasn't sure how to interpret Mirror's multiple uses of that term.

So you see, I am not out of touch. Alfred E. Neuman is a very good proxy for those who remain with their heads in the sand.

As for Lott, I would love to see him replaced by a good Republican who understands the immigration problem. Lott is not my poster boy! ... for the reasons stated under his photo.
